The participation of TDK in Fekete Zaj Festival 2024 marks an important step in the band’s international presence, situating their work within the broader European alternative music scene.
Held in Gyöngyös, the festival brings together a diverse lineup of experimental and alternative acts, providing a context in which TDK’s distinctive sound can resonate beyond the local scene. On August 17, 2024, the band performed on the festival’s main stage in front of an audience of over 5,000 people, occupying a key early evening slot and engaging with a new and expanded audience.
The project, realized in collaboration with the Municipality of Plovdiv, encompasses not only the performance itself, but also the full realization of the band’s participation-from planning and logistics to mobility and international coordination. Traveling from Plovdiv to Hungary, the band undertook a tightly scheduled journey that enabled their appearance within a limited timeframe, emphasizing the often unseen infrastructural layer behind independent music circulation.
At its core, this project reflects a commitment to supporting the international mobility of independent artists, creating opportunities for cultural exchange and visibility. By facilitating TDK’s participation in Fekete Zaj, Metaart Foundation contributes to the expansion of Bulgarian contemporary music into new territories, fostering connections with wider audiences and artistic networks.
